The puppies are finally improving and responding to their treatment. They have begun growing hair back and most of their sores have healed. On Friday they received their 3rd and hopefully last treatment.
Thank you to everyone who has made the puppies treatment possible.
We will keep you posted on their progress.
If you can spare even $5.00, please consider making a donation to The Petal's Fund to help off set some of the cost for their care. Believe us when we tell you every little bit helps.
When Chicago Animal Control asked us to take Cassie into our rescue there was no hesitation. Just one look at her and we were hooked. This adorable, happy girl will bring joy to that lucky family willing to open their hearts to her. She keeps her foster parents laughing with her personality and spunk. It’s amazing to watch her play and bounce around….literally bounce around. She is like a little kangaroo hopping from place to place. Some of Cassie’s favorite things are her toy football, bedtime, snuggling, and FOOD. Cassie is one of a kind!
What: The Adopt Hop is a collaborative event among eight different Chicago-area animal shelters and rescue groups, and Wrigleyville-area bars. The mission of this annual campaign is to encourage people to adopt their pets instead of buying them from a store or breeder.
The Adopt Hop pub crawl will take place from 2 pm - 6 pm & will be followed by a Rescue Rally and raffle from 6 pm - 7:30 pm at Rockit Bar and Grill. The Rescue Rally will be emceed by Josh Alton, who was voted by the Chicago Reader as one of the best comedians in Chicago in 2010!
Start & pick up your Adopt Hop map @ Wrigley Field on the corner of Addison & Clark. From there, you can visit all the rescue organizations-ALIVE Rescue, Chicagoland Bully Breed Rescue, Chicago English Bulldog Rescue, New Leash on Life, Project Rescue Chicago, Tree House Humane Society, Virtually Home Chicago, and Young at Heart.
Cost:$25 in advance & $30 day of (t-shirt and giveaways included). Day of tickets can be purchased at any participating bar - Bar Celona, Harry Caray's Tavern, Irish Oak, Red Ivy, Rockit Bar and Grill, Sluggers, Vines on Clark, and Yak-Zies.
Because ALIVE Rescue does not currently have a facility, we are seeking foster homes for dogs. Foster homes are the most important part of our rescue. Without foster homes, we are unable to rescue animals who would otherwise be euthanized.
ALIVE Rescue provides each foster home with the necessary supplies they will need to care for their foster animal.
Currently, we are seeking foster homes who can commit to fostering a dog for ONLY 10 days.
